Indonesia become the world's second-largest food waster with around 36,000 tons of food is wasted every day. Approximately 12 percent of the food provided at the hotel becomes food waste and food loss. While in restaurants, they throw away over roughly 4 percent of the food provided

Thus, Surplus is an online marketplace in Indonesia that can enable customers to buy meals from restaurants, hotels, farms, bakeries, cafes, supermarkets, etc., who have surplus food/haven’t sold at end of the day with 50% off (closing-hour discounts)

For the user, the app is an easy way to eat great food while saving money and the environment. For food retailers, It's an opportunity to reach new customers, earn extra income, reduce disposal costs, while making the planet greener. It’s a win-win solution!

🎨 Job Description

  1. Help define the roadmap, goals, and vision for the product
  2. Plan and design wireframe/flow for the project/feature you are working on
  3. Come up with ways to validate the design, and collaborate with the Engineer and Business Development team to execute it
  4. Create stellar design documentation & help establish processes to ensure seamless collaboration

🤹🏻 Skills

  • Passionate to combat food waste
  • At least 1.5 years of experience in the Product design field, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale products
  • Proficiency in product design with extensive and demonstrated expertise in the visual hierarchy, layout, and information architecture
  • Ability to draw insights from both qualitative & quantitative data, and further identify problem areas to work on
  • Excel in both UI and UX design skills - from low fidelity to high fidelity detail down to the pixel;
  • Knowledge in Google Analytics and other metric related tools is a plus
  • Deep empathy and interest in keeping your customers point of view in the forefront, constantly bringing questions back to what will serve them best
  • Good knowledge in design fundamentals, such as design thinking frameworks, and ability to take on a structured approach in solving problems
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and collaboration skills to manage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Can join as soon as possible in November 2021
